Off Route 101

Along the Coast

July 16, 2016

On the way up to Big Sur (for a late dinner at Nepenthe), just past San Luis Obispo, we stopped at a beach just behind a small coastal town of old middle twentieth century houses. Many of the houses sat on low cliffs directly above the high tide line. The beach was brown sand and rocky. Several miles to the north, the coast curved westward and was covered in a middle-morning fog bank. A hundred or see feet out in the water a cluster of tall jagged rocks were covered in a variety of seabirds.
