Egrets in there Everglades

Delray Beach,

August 18, 2012

This is the fifth in a series of images from south Florida, in particular, in and around Miami Beach where I once lived on a small island (Normandy Isle) in Biscayne Bay. In this case, however, we explore a scene from the Everglades.

These are the birds that try men’s souls, to paraphrase Patrick Henry. They have an uncanny ability to ramble about and lose a nice photographic composition as soon as you raise a camera in their direction. This on-the-ground flock apparently didn’t notice me so I came away with mostly the wide-angle shot I wanted.
