White Flower in Cypress Forest
Delray Beach, Florida
May 4, 2012
If you drive along Atlantic Avenue due west from Delray Beach Florida, you will eventually hit Route 7 that runs south to north, parallel to the Everglades. Turning north, you can enter the Everglades and one of the last remaining sections of the once great cypress swamp. On this early afternoon, I was prowling along the edge of the swamp, following the remains of an old wooden fence. The sun momentarily illuminated the fence. There, behind the fence, was a solitary white flower taking in the fleeting sunlight.
